Cessna 185

The Cessna 185 is a high performance rugged utility aircraft fitted with a 300 HPpiston engine. It can be configured as a land plane, floatplane or ski plane. It has a STOL performance and is ideal in snow and ice conditions. Mount Cook Ski Planes have been operating them since 1961. We are currently operating 5 Cessna 185 aircraft.

Pilatus Turbo Porter PC6

The Pilatus Turbo Porter PC6 utility aircraft have exceptional climb, descent, low speed handling qualities and STOL performance (a football field is sufficient). Mount Cook Ski Planes operate the latest version which is powered by a PT6A - 27 engine giving 680 SHP. The aircraft are manufactured in Switzerland. It is a highly robust transporter which carries a large additional load in relation to its dead weight. These aircraft hold several world records including the highest altitude landing in its class.

ピラトゥス・ターボ・ポーターPC6多用途航空機には上昇、下降、低速度操縦の優れた性能とサッカー場の大きさがあれば十分に離着陸できるSTOL（短距離離着陸機能）があります。マウント・クック・スキープレーンズでは680軸馬力のPT6A－27型エンジンを搭載した最新型機を使用しております。機体はスイス製で、機体の自重に比べかなりの重量が運べる実に頑丈な運送機です。また最も高い標高での着陸など、同クラスにおいていくつかの世界記録を保持しています。

Cessna 180
セスナ180型機

The Cessna 180 is a high-wing utility aircraft ideally suited for mountain flying, powered by a 260HP six-cylinder engine. Mount Cook Ski Planes first operated this type on skis before moving to the Cessna 185. Today the company operates one C180 ZK-BYJ as a land plane and performs a variety of roles. As a fast comfortable 4 place aircraft it is suitable for cross-country charter. ZK-BYJ is also used for aerial tracking of endangered birds such as the Okarito Brown Kiwi (Rowi) and Blackstilt (Kaki), and for aerial photography with a wing camera mount, a top hinged door for oblique photos and a vertical camera hatch for mapping.

セスナ180型機は260馬力の6気筒エンジンを搭載した高翼多用途航空機で、山岳飛行に理想的な機種です。マウント・クック・スキープレーンズではまず最初にスキー付きの当機種を用い、後に185型機へと移行しました。現在、当社では陸上着陸専用としてC180 ZK-BYJ型機を1機運航し、様々な用途に用いています。高速且つ快適な4人乗り航空機は全国各地に飛ぶチャーター機としても最適です。またZK-BYJ型機はオカリト・ブラウン・キーウィ（ロウィ）やクロセイタカシギ（カキ）といった絶滅に瀕した鳥類の空中追跡に利用されたり、カメラ取り付け可能な翼、斜角撮影用の上に開くドア、地図作成用の垂直カメラハッチなどを使った航空写真撮影に利用されたりしています。
