Your guide has extensive local knowledge, allowing you to explore the hidden gems of the Tasman Glacier.

The Ultimate Mt Cook Private Guided Experience

Ski plane scenic with 2 glacier landings (Horrace Walker/Franz Josef and Tasman Glacier) and a flight path around Aoraki Mt Cook, with West Coast views of the Fox, Franz Josef and Tasman Glaciers. Enjoy a second landing of the Tasman Glacier and a few hours exploring the ice fall with snow shoes and your guide.

The helicopter will pick you up and take you and your guide down to the lower area of the Tasman Glacier, known as White Ice, to explore the ice caves and tunnels. Approx 2-4 hours with a picnic lunch and bubbles included. You can try ice climbing as well!

The helicopter will then pick you up to take you to Plateau Hut (sitting right below Aoraki Mt Cook on the plateau glacier) for mulled wine, cheese and crackers, where you will stay until sunset. We will then pick you up via helicopter to fly you back home.

The Adventurer: Tasman Glacier Heli Hike

Combine the excitement of walking on New Zealand’s biggest glacier, with the thrill of breathtaking scenic helicopter fly-bys of New Zealand’s largest mountain, Aoraki/Mt Cook.

In summer, your guide will outfit you with special ice spikes for your feet, called crampons. During the winter months, you will be able to use crampons and try snowshoeing.

The Wigley: Top of the Tasman Glacier Hike

Explore the immense beauty of the upper snowfield of the Haupapa/Tasman Glacier. This is where its 23 kilometre journey begins. As you fly at 2200 metres (7200 ft.), aboard your ski plane, marvel as the rock and ice debris transform to glistening white.

Get ready to explore the glacier by walking, hiking and snowshoeing, you may even see an iceberg in the glacier lake!
